Pearson Teaching Awards

John_Andrews_and_Virendra_Sharma_MP.jpgJohn Andrews, a teacher at Featherstone High School, won a Pearson Teaching Award for Teacher of the Year in a Secondary School. I was able to join him at the Awards in the House of Commons on 24th June to celebrate his achievements.

The Pearson Awards recognise exceptional teachers from across the UK and winners are shortlisted from a record number of over 20,000 nominations made by grateful pupils, past and present, parents and colleagues.

It is great to see one of our local teachers rewarded for their hard work, their commitment to their students and to making a big difference to learning and in the community.

Congratulations to John Andrews on his great achievement!
