On 20th June, I visited Raj Nursing Home in my constituency to mark National Care Home Open Day.
The National Care Home Open Day, run by a group of leading care providers and associations, aims to connect care homes with their local communities and challenge long-standing prejudices about residential care. It will provide an important opportunity to dispel misconceptions about residential care by allowing people to see for themselves the level of care available to their loved ones.
Every day in care homes across the country, staff show kindness to our loved ones, share laughs with residents and provide fun activities.
I visited the residents and carers at Raj Nursing Home today to recognise the carers’ hard work and recognise the importance service they provide in the community.
I would like to thank the residents and carers at Raj Nursing Home for their warm welcome. Carers have an extremely important role in the community, providing compassionate and inspiring care for elderly and disabled residents. They work hard to help the vulnerable and I am glad National Care Home Open Day gives the opportunity for all to see the importance of residential care in this country.
