On Saturday 19th March I opened the LSE India Forum 2016, titled 'India's Growing Global Footprint'.
The room was full of inspiring young people, and I have never felt more hope for the future of the UK and India's relationship. So many people with so much to offer want our relationship to succeed.
I spoke of how young people must give to society before they can ask for anything back. I spoke of how as a young man I came from India, moved to Ealing and built a life in a new community.
The day long conference was defined by the quality of the speakers, and the speakers were of illustrious pedigree.
Sachin Pilot from the Indian National Congress discussed the future political challenges
and India face, while Anupama Chopra an award winning author, journalist and film critic, talked about the direction Indian entertainment will have to take in the future.
Thank you to everyone involved, you organised a fantastic event.
