Ealing Fairtrade Group hosted a Fairtrade Shop on The Broadway between Monday 24th February to Saturday 1st March. The Fairtrade shop was timed to coincide with the first week of this year's Fairtrade Fortnight.
Each day there will be a mix of stalls selling Fairtrade and fairly traded products, and we will also have craft activities for children. There will also be an opportunity for local people to support the Fairtrade Foundation's Make Bananas Fair campaign.
Ealing is a Fairtrade Borough and has committed to support Fairtrade and using products with the Fairtrade Mark.
Fairtrade guarantees a better deal to producers in the developing world: this means a stable price which covers their production costs, along with a premium that their organisation will be able to reinvest either in the business or social and environmental schemes within the wider community.
The Ealing Fairtrade Group aims to promote Fairtrade, increase the supply of Fairtrade products and maintain the Borough’s Fairtrade status. They have worked very closely with schools in the Borough to increase awareness of Fairtrade.
